Clinical Microbiomics is seeking a highly talented laboratory technician

At Clinical Microbiomics we are looking for a talented and dedicated laboratory technician to join our rapidly growing team in Copenhagen.

Clinical Microbiomics is a leading provider of advanced microbiome analyses for global pharma, nutrition and academic clients. The laboratory technician position is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in the emerging field of the microbiome and its relation to a variety of complex diseases, such as diabetes, cancer and IBD.

The technician performs own experiments and participates in projects he/she oversees, coordinates the daily activities of the laboratory and takes responsibilities in lab management. Furthermore, the candidate has the opportunity to learn and increase scientific knowledge, participate in scientific projects and interact with a young and dynamic team of skilled scientists.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform molecular laboratory work, including (but not limited to) DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and sequencing
  • Develop new - and improve existing - laboratory methods. This includes searching and reading scientific literature and devising study plans together with our Study Directors
  • Work within and improve our quality management system
  • Manage the laboratory, including preparing and organizing laboratory equipment and facilities, documentation and schedules for studies
  • Identify and problem-solve study-related issues as they arise, bringing it to the attention of the correct supervisor

Qualifications

  • Trained laboratory technician or similar
  • Detail-oriented and with good oral and written English skills
  • Ability to work independently, also when troubleshooting is required in relation to laboratory work
  • Can manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail
  • Experience with laboratory procedures and best practices

It is an advantage if you

  • Have experience working with the described work tasks
  • Have experience working with sterile, fragile, and/or low yield samples (e.g. RNA extractions)
  • Have experience working with a quality management system or in a GLP framework
